Please
turn your attention to Hollands' North sea coast, Friesland, one of
the Netherlands' northern provinces. Alongside world-famous Dutch
cheeses like gouda and edam, there is the signature Frisian
Gingerbread. This 100% "quick" rye bread, was often times
steamed in a water bath rather than cooked in a dry oven. Here is my
interpretation of
Stanley Ginsberg's' formula.

Thanks for this recipe. It takes me back to another time in my life.
You are very welcome! Glad I could be of service. Happy Friday!
This is not an authentic recipe for Frisian Gingerbread. In actual Frisian Gingerbread they do not put chunks of candied ginger and orange peel into it, and a syrup of molassaes, sugar, and spices is not used, and most people do not use rye flour.
